2026 Women’s Writing Circle on Zoom
Writing Life:
nourish yourself, honour your voice, write your stories
with Mary Ann Moore
It’s time again for a Writing Life women’s writing circle series and I am delighted to welcome you! Here’s hoping a Wednesday morning (Pacific time) will make it possible for you to join us and discover what’s waiting to be written. This is a wonderful opportunity to gather with other writers to enjoy support and encouragement for your writing practice. Since this is a circle for everyone, no matter your writing experience, why not share this heart-opening experience with your friends? I look forward to reconnecting as well as welcoming those new to the Writing Life circle.
The Simple Things
The dates for the next Writing Life Circle with the theme of “The Simple Things” are Wednesday, February 4 to Wednesday, February 25, 2026 (four Wednesdays), 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Pacific time on Zoom.
February: a magical month
February 2 is Imbolc, also known as Brigid’s Day on the Celtic calendar. Imbolc is the name given to the Spring quarter of the year which brings the gifts of insight and inspiration. February 17 is the second New Moon following Winter Solstice and the beginning of the Lunar Year of the Fire Horse. So February is not the dull month we often make it out to be!
Ancient Wisdom~Modern Application
And we have an opportunity to meet on Zoom, creating a circle of writing women across the many miles. The writing circle offers a calm, nurturing, and inspiring space for your writing to unfold. You will be supported and encouraged on your journey, in the company of fellow “travellers.” The circle format is an ancient wisdom that offers a perfect container for a welcoming experience: a sacred ceremony of writing, sharing and listening where each person is respected for their presence and contributions.
Weekly Topics
The circle and its structure is as important to our process as is the writing we do. As Francis Weller says in his book In the Absence of the Ordinary: Soul Work for Times of Uncertainty: ”Ritual, prayer, meditation, and creativity are ways to foster an intimacy with the world of soul and the soul of the world.” I’m grateful to Francis Weller who inspired our weekly topics: Stillness, Story, Beauty, and Compassion.
Writing Creativity and Soul
That’s the title of Sue Monk Kidd’s new memoir in which she writes: “The writer’s transaction with soul is what brings depth, authenticity, originality, imagination, and emotional reverberation to what we have to say.” While the term “soul” eludes definition, the Greek word for “soul” is “psyche.” As Sue says, “fundamentally, soul is simply the rich, interior life of the psyche.” To paraphrase Sue: The writing we do returns you to yourself.
