“I so enjoyed the writing circle with the group “from away’s” connections and participation.
It was a joy and a gift! Thank you for doing this. My writing heart is home in your circles.” – Stephanie, Ontario, Canada
2026 Women’s Writing Circle on Zoom
The Monday Morning Writers’ Circle
nourish yourself, honour your voice, write your stories
with Mary Ann Moore
Would you you like to support your writing practice by joining The Monday Morning Writers’ Circle that begins March 2, 2026? We will form a community of women writers ready to recommit to our writing practice and possibly an ongoing project that has been neglected lately.
The Monday Morning Writers’ Circle is a wonderful way to begin the week!
I suggest we begin each week, for five weeks in March, with what’s most important among all the “to-do’s”: our personal writing practice. In the circle, our “checking in” and “checking out” are part of the structure that helps us create a welcoming space of support and encouragement. And there will be some time to write on a theme (see below), to share, as well as to let us know what you’ve been working on.
We raise energy together for magic, and the transformative nature of the writing we practice. The nurturing keeps us going. I look forward to these five mornings (Pacific time) in March.
The Monday Morning Writers’ Circle Dates: Monday, March 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30, 2026, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Pacific time
How does it work? We’ll meet each Monday on the dates noted above for an hour and a half. You’ll receive encouragement, writing and sharing time, and inspiration to continue working on your own. This hour and a half spent in a supportive writing community will nourish you and together, we’ll receive a creative boost, remembering that self-expression has a healthy impact on our lives and in the world. It’s amazing at what can be done in an hour and a half!
I started women’s writing circles in my living room in Toronto in 1997. I needed companions for the writing journey. I still feel that way now. I’ll be working along with you with some generative writing prompts which may give you ideas for your particular project. How lovely it is to have witnesses and companions for our writing journey.
“Ritual, prayer, meditation, and creativity are ways to foster an intimacy with the world of soul and the soul of the world,” Francis Weller says in his book In the Absence of the Ordinary: Soul Work for Times of Uncertainty. I’m grateful to Francis who inspired our weekly topics.
Our weekly topics:
March 2 Stillness
March 9 Story
March 16 Beauty
March 23 Compassion
March 30 Patience
Resources for your writing journey
There will be “handouts” for our time together as well as during the week to offer some creative nudges.
Your Intention
I suggest you have an intention for the four weeks including the four Mondays. I can send you a link to the article “The Heart’s Intention” by Phillip Moffitt which is a great description of intentions vs goals. Intentions keep us in the present. “Right intention is simply about coming home to yourself,” Phillip says.
Among the practices of the writing circle guidelines we follow are to listen with attention and speak with intention. The structure of our circle space (even on Zoom!) is laid down with intention.
I’m excited about our connection, evolving and creating together. We’ll have a chance to feel grounded in our writing practice, in community, and to continue to give attention to an ongoing project that is important to us.
