Open to the irritation, grit forms a pearl it’s been said. Fish for mermaids, dive for pearls . . creativity@maryannmoore.ca

Mary Ann’s wisdom and gentle guiding opened the group’s creative heart. Before we knew what happened, she had us writing our own poetry. In the stillness, reading inspirational poetry, and nudging us to explore, we wrote as if ”packing for our future.” Encouraged to share our creations, powerfully insightful poems unfolded. Mary Ann Moore’s love of poetry sparked our creative spirits.

Frogs Fell from the Sky: Fiction in Poetry
a poetry circle with Mary Ann Moore

We will gather in a circle to celebrate and discover the many gifts and surprises of fiction in poetry.
There are all sorts of changed or imagined elements in a poem, as well as aspects that simply arrive
when one lets the poem lead the way. Poems can contain “small fictions,” arrive as gifts and epiphanies,
be prescient at times, as well as become re-envisioned realities. You may ask yourself as you draft new
poems: Is this fiction or my own wise advice?  Bring your notebook and pen, your curiosity, and be open
to some new discoveries.

Please get in touch with Mary Ann to let her know of your interest or if you have any questions.

Intent

  • To provide a safe place for people to tell their stories.
  • To find the still centre of ourselves and of the circle.
  • To write what has heart and meaning for us.
  • To realize our role as leaders in a circle of leaders.
  • To remember the divine feminine and
embrace our female and male teachers.
  • To becoming a community of peers
slowing down to a natural rhythm

Passion

I bring my passion for poetry and for writing as a spiritual practice to all the writing circles I offer. Poetry offers a doorway in and a welcome home. Practices in the circle help to root us in the present. Memories recalled are integrated into the here and now. We plant seeds of self-compassion along the way, so we may learn to love the evolving parts of ourselves.

Come and open to the gifts of poetry and writing in community and a return to “a sense of reunion” with yourself.
