Writing Home
a one-day workshop or a circle series (8 weeks)

Mary Ann Moore is also available to offer any of the workshops described here at your next conference, retreat or community function, or for corporate team building. Please contact Mary Ann to discuss your particular needs.
Our circle begins with intention and mindfulness. The supportive container of the circle inspires creativity without judgment. There is no need to fix anything. You will write and speak of what you find in the stillness. The deeper we go, the closer we come to our common story. There are seven steps in the pilgrimage to find home; a circle meeting weekly for two months would give participants an opportunity to explore each stage of the journey.

Mapping Your Spiritual Journey
a one-day workshop or a circle series (8 weeks)

Following Mary Ann Moore's pilgrimage to Turkey in the spring of 1998, she created writing circles, retreats and self-guiding materials based on her discoveries. The eight sessions begin with Getting Started on a Regular, Self-Nourishing Spiritual Practice followed by Your Name, Your Symbols, Your Beliefs, Your Home, Memory Walk, Honouring Your Ancestors, Your Relationship with Nature.

Yes, You Are Creative!
a one-day workshop or a circle series (6 weeks)

In an encouraging and friendly atmosphere, you will be inspired to ignite and nourish your own creativity. Using a series of writing and visual exercises such as journaling, poem making and collage you will have fun, feel energized and discover that unleashing your creativity can enhance your life. You will find out about the healing benefits of stillness and silliness that are part of the creative process, and receive plenty of affirmations to support your creative journey. With evidence of your creativity in hand, you will leave the workshop proclaiming, "Yes, I am creative!"

Dancing with the Muse
a one-day workshop or a circle series (8 weeks)

We begin with Preparing to Face the Creative Fire. It takes courage, respect and some guidelines to transform our fears into allies. Our conversation is in the stillness of the circle where we will learn to listen, to ourselves and one another.

Subsequent weeks include Encouraging the Embers; Igniting the Sparks followed by Stoking the Fire; Protecting the Fire; Fanning the Fire; Containing the Fire; Poem Making as a Sacred, Contemplative Practice and What's Next?

Poem Making for Everyone
a one-day workshop or on ongoing series

Poem making is the soul taking pleasure in creating a ceremony out of the ordinary details and events of our lives. The workshop enhances and celebrates one's powers of observation, our connection to nature, friends and family. Poem making also includes a celebration of poets, mindfulness, meditation, collage, cutting and pasting and lots of fun. No previous poetry writing experience is required to write poems about yourself and what has meaning for you. If you are already writing poetry, the workshop will give you lots of ideas for writing more.

Journaling in the Garden
a one-day retreat or a circle series (8 weeks)

While "journaling in the garden", we explore our gardens of the senses, colours, memories and dreams with the assistance of nature. Author/facilitator Mary Ann Moore will help you dig into your garden of stories; a practice that is meditative and healing. Some of our topics include The Healing Benefits of Writing, Types of Journaling, Writing Haiku, A Walk in Nature, A Regular Tea House Practice.

Goddesses For Girls: Celebrating Ourselves and Exploring Our World Through Poem Making

a one-day workshop or a three-hour circle

Before the time of organized religion, people worshipped the Goddess and called the earth Mother. The goddesses teach us all sorts of things including how to live in community, peacefully, respecting nature and the sacred in the every day. Imagine communities where women and girls are honoured for all their talents including being creative. The goddesses teach us to respect our bodies, to create rituals to mark the important changes in our lives, and to gather with other girls and women in circles to support one another and tell our stories.
